Cuda Restomod Build by All American Streetcar Performance
Back in 2012 I had my 1970 Cuda Restomod overhauled by Shaun at All American Streetcar Performance in Largo, FL. These guys did an incredible job. The first job was to upgrade the mushy suspension I had in the car. I upgraded it with a Hotchkis total vehicle suspension kit. I also had the automatic transmission swapped out for a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed manual transmission. I also had redone the exhaust to flowmaster like custom ones designed by All American and upgraded the cam to a custom grind along with roller rockers to get a little rat-a-tat going. Lastly, I upgraded the brakes to front wheel disc with a Wilwood kit. This all worked out fantastically – great handling, great sound, lots of power…but…so much power on a poorly rebuilt engine (done by the original builders of the restomod) I had spun a bearing in my 440 and had to have the motor rebuilt. So…off to a Hughes Engines for a complete rebuild kit. And while I was at it I decided to stroke the 440 to 500cc and move from a cast crankshaft to a forged crankshaft – thankfully Hughes Engines had the whole kit that was just what I was looking for!
She runs perfectly now – I can’t say enough about the Shaun and the All American guys – they did a fabulous job on her and she’s now a real muscle car with some real muscle!
Attached below are all the great pictures taken during the build at All American Streetcar Performance. Now the only thing left to do is replace the rear end with a Dana 60 :).
